Your voice and transcripts never leave your device.

The short version: Audiograph is a zero-cloud, 100% on-device voice recorder and AI transcription workstation. We do not collect, transmit, store, sell, or analyze your audio recordings, transcripts, summaries, or personal data on any server. Everything stays on your phone.

1. Introduction & core commitment

At enraio, we believe private voice recordings, spoken ideas, meetings, and personal memos belong solely to you.

Audiograph is engineered from the ground up as a zero-cloud, local-first recording and transcription tool. Speech recognition, speaker labelling, full-text search, and AI-powered summaries run entirely on your phone.

No audio recordings, transcripts, summaries, or metadata are ever sent to our servers, OpenAI, Google Cloud, AWS, or any remote processor.

2. Information we do not collect

Because Audiograph operates entirely on-device, we have eliminated all remote collection infrastructure:

  • No audio recordings — Your voice is recorded directly to local storage and never uploaded to any cloud server.
  • No transcripts or summaries — Speech-to-text and on-device language models run locally. We never see or store what you say or what the AI extracts.
  • No user accounts — You do not need to sign in, provide an email address, or link any external identity.
  • No advertising or tracking identifiers — We do not track you across apps or websites. Audiograph does not collect or use the Google Play Advertising ID or Apple IDFA.
  • No analytics or telemetry SDKs — The app contains zero third-party analytics trackers (no Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, or Meta SDKs). We have no idea how many notes you record or how often you use the app.
  • No remote crash logs — Audiograph does not embed crash reporting SDKs that capture stack traces or device memory over the network.

3. Device permissions

Audiograph requests only the operating system permissions it strictly needs:

  • Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) — To record voice notes. Audio is captured into local volatile memory, processed locally, and encrypted directly into on-device storage. It is never transmitted over a network.
  • Foreground service & notifications — On Android, this keeps the recording engine and local transcription workers active when your screen is locked or while multitasking. Displays an ongoing system notification as required by Android. We never use remote push notifications.
  • Biometrics / Face ID (USE_BIOMETRIC) — To provide an optional app lock protecting your private notes from physical inspection. Handled entirely by the device operating system’s secure enclave (Android BiometricPrompt and iOS LocalAuthentication). Audiograph never accesses or stores biometric data.
  • Storage and media access — Only used when you explicitly choose to import an existing audio or video file (such as MP3, M4A, WAV, or MP4) for local transcription, or when exporting a note. Audiograph only accesses the specific files you select via the system picker.
  • Network access (INTERNET) — Used only to download the optional on-device AI models you choose (the default summary model is about 1 GB; larger summary models and extra speech models are optional) and for Google Play purchases. Model downloads use Wi-Fi unless you allow mobile data. Zero voice data, transcripts, telemetry, or user identifiers are ever sent over this connection.

4. Data security & encryption at rest

Your notes are encrypted on your device:

  • Database encryption — All transcripts, speaker labels, timestamps, and extracted insights are stored in a local SQLite database encrypted with SQLCipher (256-bit AES in CBC mode).
  • Audio encryption — Audio files are encrypted at rest using pure AES-256-GCM.
  • Key storage — Encryption keys are generated on-device and protected by the Android Keystore (and the iOS Keychain on iPhone). Keys never leave your device.
  • Cloud backup exclusions — On Android, cloud backups and device transfers are explicitly disabled (android:allowBackup="false" and android:dataExtractionRules). On iOS, app files are marked with NSURLIsExcludedFromBackupKey to prevent unencrypted synchronization to iCloud.

5. In-app purchases

Audiograph offers an optional one-time purchase (“Audiograph Pro”) to unlock unlimited transcription and advanced export formats:

  • All transactions are handled securely through Google Play Billing (on Android) or Apple In-App Purchase (on iOS).
  • We never see, collect, or store your credit card details, bank account numbers, or billing address.
  • Purchase status is verified locally with your store account and stored in protected device preferences.

6. Universal export & sharing

Audiograph allows you to export your notes in plain text, Markdown, PDF, and subtitle formats (SRT, VTT).

Exported files are generated locally. Sharing occurs solely through your operating system’s native Share Sheet. You choose where to send the exported file — Audiograph has no control over or visibility into third-party apps you share with.

7. Data retention & deletion rights

Because Audiograph does not operate any user database or cloud storage, you hold sole and absolute control over your data:

  • Deleting notes — Deleting a note inside the app immediately and permanently destroys the encrypted audio file and associated database records from your device storage.
  • Uninstalling the app — Uninstalling Audiograph instantly wipes the local database, all cached models, recordings, and encryption keys. Because no copy exists on our servers, nothing remains.

8. Compliance with global privacy laws

European Union & UK GDPR: Under the General Data Protection Regulation, enraio acts neither as a Data Controller nor as a Data Processor for your audio recordings or transcripts, as we have no access to your personal data. All processing occurs exclusively on your terminal equipment under your exclusive direction (pursuant to Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive).

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA): We do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising. We do not collect sensitive personal information on remote servers.

Children’s privacy: Audiograph is not directed to children under 13, and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy is updated, the changes will be posted here with a revised effective date.
